Why?

Why do you need an Amphora necklace?

Amphora
  • Keep your rings sparkling and clean: use your Amphora to hold them while washing your hands, applying lotion or sunscreen, cooking, cleaning your home, or gardening.
  • Don't let your ring get scuffed, scratched, or damaged during workouts or home improvement projects, or, worse, lost because you left it in a locker or pocket, or precariously perched on a countertop.
  • Never again worry that you will leave your ring at the manicurist.
  • The Amphora is a perfect solution for those moments when your fingers swell, whether on an occasional basis or as a result of pregnancy, making wearing your rings uncomfortable.
  • Doctors, nurses, and other professionals who are required to remove rings for medical or hygenic purposes will find the Amphora invaluable.  Hair professionals love it because they can wear their rings without clients' hair getting caught on them.
  • No need to rely on your jewelry holder or the dish by the sink anymore, where your rings will be safe but never seen. Wear them on your Amphora!

The Amphora is an ideal gift for any woman:

  • The newly engaged or newly married daughter, sister, friend, or wife
  • The bride who wants to hold her groom's wedding band close to her heart as she walks down the aisle
  • The newly pregnant mother-to-be
  • The graduate from medical or nursing school
  • The perfect anniversary, birthday, or Christmas gift

How?

To attach a ring to your Amphora necklace, simply slide the ring onto one end of the pendant.  Keep sliding the ring around the pendant, bending and pulling the chain as you go.  Once the ring has traveled all the way around the pendant, release the ring, and you're done!

How to use Amphora

To remove your ring, simply reverse the steps.

Want to attach two rings? There are two ways to go about it:

If you want to attach two rings at the same time, simply hold them together and thread them onto the pendant as though they were one wide ring.

Using Amphora with Two Rings

If you want to attach a second ring when you already have one ring on your Amphora, slide the ring that is already attached up onto the chain, as demonstrated in the illustration above.  This gets this ring "out of the way."  Then proceed to add the new ring just as you would normally, following the usual steps.  When the new ring is on, you can release the second ring.  Both will fall securely into place.

Frequently Asked Questions

"How secure is my ring, really?"

In virtually every situation, your ring is completely secure on your Amphora.  It will not fall off.  Although it seems like magic, the way it works is really no secret.  When you are wearing your Amphora necklace, the chain and the pendant create an hourglass shape.  Your ring rests securely at the narrowest part of that hourglass shape.  Your ring cannot come off because the widest part of the Amphora pendant is wider than your ring.  Meanwhile, gravity pulls the Amphora pendant downward, making the chain taut around your neck and creating the upper part of the hourglass.

What does all that mean?  Simply that so long as gravity is working in its usual way, and you are more or less upright, your ring won't come off unless you take it off.  That hourglass shape will be maintained no matter how much you run, jump, and play.

In those rare situations when you may defy gravity to a significant degree, such as during space travel, synchronized swimming, riding rollercoasters, or while performing in Cirque de Soleil, we don't recommend using Amphora to hold your ring.

"Can I use another chain with my Amphora pendant?"

Absolutely.  The chain included with your necklace has been specially selected for its strength and flexibility; you may find that some chains are not flexible enough to work with the Amphora.  Additionally, we found that the 18" chain, in addition to being a universally flattering length, creates the best hourglass shape for the functionality of Amphora, while still leaving enough length to easily put it on and off.  However, if you have another chain you'd like to use, and it's flexible enough, feel free to use it instead!

"I just got my Amphora, and I have a hard time putting my ring on and removing it.  Any advice?"

Yes- do it in front of a mirror the first few times! It's a simple movement, but when you're trying to do it without seeing what you're doing, it can feel a little awkward.  Once you practice a few times with the help of a mirror, the motion of taking it on and off will become quick and effortless.
